The Weeknd, self-titled Abel Tesfaye, broke into the music world with the 2011 mixtape House of Balloons. He continued to work with Drake, Wiz Khalifa and others as he built his own career as an artist. In 2015, Weeknd enjoyed tremendous success with the Grammy-winning album Beauty Behind the Madness, which included e.g. the acclaimed song "Can't Feel My Face." The third album, Starboy (2016), also won a Grammy and the album also featured other artists such as Daft Punk.
The fourth and most recent album, "After Hours," featured the hit singles "Blinding Lights," "Heartless," "In Your Eyes," and "Save Your Tears." The album jumped to the top of the charts in 20 countries.
In a few years, The Weeknd has become one of the most popular R&B artists and the popularity of the boy Tesfayelle e.g. the coveted Super Bowl Halftime appearance in 2021.
